Mary Nell (Howerton) Heaton

Alvord ~ Mary Nell Heaton, 91, went to be with our Lord Friday, August 24, 2018 in Bowie.

Funeral is 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel Decatur with burial in Alvord Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Monday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur.

Rev. Louis Horton will officiate. Pallbearers include Dustin Burns, Brandon Hunt, Ryan Heaton, Jessie Heaton, Kenneth Howerton and Gary Jones.

Mary was born on September 11, 1926 to Thomas and Ruth (Lee) Howerton in Alvord, Texas. She was united in marriage to George Leon Heaton on January 5, 1946 in Nocona, Texas. Mary retired as a seamstress after 18 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church Alvord.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and her son, Thomas Heaton.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her daughter, Linda Morrow of Hutto, Texas; her grandchildren, Stacie Burns and husband Britt of Decatur, Brandon Hunt and wife Wendy of Hutto, Jessie Heaton and wife Brandie of Abilene, Ryan Heaton and wife Brandie of Bowie, Dion Heaton of Sunset; 9 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; her sister, Nita Murphy of Gainesville; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
