Alvord: Mary Beth Simms, 78 of Alvord, went to be with our Lord, Monday, July 12, 2010 in Lewisville, Texas.
Funeral service is 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 14th at First Baptist Church in Alvord with Reverend Bill Cleveland officiating. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home.
Mary Beth was born January 21, 1932 in Alvord, Texas to William Jefferson and Nannie Ellen Bates Greenwood. She retired from Fidelity Union Life Insurance Company as a data entry operator.
Mary Beth married Curtis Simms on October 14, 1970 and was married 39 years at his death on October 31, 2009. She is also preceded in death by her parents and son, Gary Cantrell.
Left behind to cherish her memory is her daughter, Brenda Drevicky and husband, John of Farmers Branch; two grandsons, Stephen Smart of Carrollton, David Smart of Lewisville; sisters, Nellie Goodwin and Mildred Haney of Alvord; Dora Sutton of Midland, and Wilma Hudspeth of Cleburne.
