Paradise ~ Mary Catherine Stephenson, 91, went to be with our Lord Thursday, June 20, 2019 in Decatur, Texas.
Funeral is 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 22, 2019, at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Boyd. Interment will be private. Family will receive friends 1 hour prior to service.
Rev. Jimmy Withers will officiate.
Mary was born on September 13, 1927, to Leonard and Mae (Jackson) Gibbs in Abilene, Texas. She was united in marriage to F.M. Stephenson on April 11, 1947 in Fort Worth. Mary was a member of Aurora Baptist Church. She has been a longstanding member of the community for almost 50 years. Mary was a beloved, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend.
She was preceded in death by her husband, F.M. Stephenson; her brother, L.P. Gibbs; and her sister, Billie Eillene Merritt.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are 2 daughters, Cathy Stephenson of Fort Worth, Lisa Remmele and husband Thomas “Gene” of Paradise; her son, Ben Stephenson and wife Irene of Kingman, Arizona; 5 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
