GRAPEVINE -- Melba Cole Kennedy, 88, formerly of Bridgeport, went to be with our Lord on Friday, May 30, 2008 in Grapevine.
Funeral: 2 p.m. Sunday at Hawkins Funeral Chapel. Burial: East Bridgeport Cemetery. Visitation: 1 p.m. Sunday.
Billie Kennedy will officiate. Pallbearers will be Daron Read, Kevin Mundy, Brandon, Kennedy, Kameron Kennedy, Jacob Kennedy, and Aaron Arthur.
Melba was born on Dec. 22, 1919 in Mesquite, Texas the daughter of Elbert Rufus and Dolly Ethel (Moore) Cole. She married Weldon Garrett Kennedy on December 14, 1940 in Mesquite. Melba was a retired Texas Instruments employee.
Left behind to cherish her memories are: husband, Weldon Kennedy of Grapevine; sons, Lynn Kennedy and wife Billie of College Station, Kent Kennedy and wife Beverly of Euless; daughters, Kaye Read Coffman of Grapevine, Anne Janek and husband Jessie of Burleson; 10 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; sisters, Wanda Moon, Edith Thompson; numerous nieces and nephews.
