Paradise~ Melba Wood Weatherly, 67, went to be with our Lord on Thursday, March 31, 2022 in Paradise.
Funeral Service will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 3, 2022 at Hawkins Funeral Home in Bridgeport with burial in West Bridgeport Cemetery to follow. Family will receive friends 5:00-7:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Pastor Todd Blair will officiate.
Pallbearers are to include, Pancho Redwine, Chance Doyal, Brent Wilson, Kevin Loraus, Shane Stegall, Steven Stegall, Shayde Wood, and Glenn Harris. Honorary will include David Loraws, Gavin Wolff, and David Jenkins.
Melba was born on January 19, 1955 to L.H. Wood and Doris (Smith) Wood in Prescott, Arkansas. She graduated Texas Christian University with a degree in Interior Design which was her passion. Melba was united in marriage to the love of her life, Tommy Weatherly on June 16, 1979 at Balsora Baptist Church. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, and friend who will missed beyond measure by all that knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Bob and Don Wood.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her husband of 42 years, Tommy Weatherly of Paradise; her sons, Tommy “TJ” Weatherly and wife, Julie of College Station and Brady Glenn Weatherly of Bryan; her grandson, Levi; her brother, Lewie Wood and wife Janie of San Angelo; her brother, Kobie Wood and wife Paula of Lingleville, Texas; her sister-in-laws, Chris Wood of Deer Park and Beverly Deaton and husband Mike of Lake Bridgeport; numerous extended family members and many good friends that were like family.
