Melinda Nell Simmons

Paradise ~ Melinda Nell Simmons, 75, went to be with our Lord Monday, September 2, 2024 in Decatur.

Funeral Service is 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 6, at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Bridgeport with burial at Keeter Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Fred Raney to officiate. Pallbearers are Rodney Simmons, Cody Hilliard, Nathan Simmons, Kyle Maxfield, Randy Simmons, and Josh Snyder.

Melinda was born on January 27, 1949 to Tynes and Marie (Carroll) Castleberry in Justin. She was united in marriage to Ronny Dale Simmons on October 6, 1965 in Fort Worth. They were together for 48 beautiful years before his passing in 2013. Melinda was a beloved mother, nana, aunt, sister-in-law, cousin, and a friend to many that will miss her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ronny Dale Simmons; and her sister, Barbara Woods.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her children, Rodney Simmons of Paradise and Michelle Maxfield and Jason Pittman of Paradise; her grandchildren, Cody Hilliard and wife Amanda of Paradise, Nathan Simmons and wife Holly of Paradise, Lindsey Snyder and husband Josh of Poolville, Bailey Dunn of Bridgeport, and Kyle Maxfield of Chico; 15 great-grandchildren; her brother, David Castleberry of Haltom City; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, brother-in-law, sister-in-law’s and a host of friends.
