Melvadean Morris

Alvord ~ Melvadean Morris, 87, went to be with our Lord, Friday, July 16, 2021 in Decatur.

Funeral is 10:00 AM Tuesday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur with burial in Oaklawn Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 PM Monday at the funeral home.

Rev. Bill Cleveland will officiate. Pallbearers include Michael Morris, Randy Morris, Maceo Pierson, Kevin Western, Jacob Morris and Brad Ransom. Honorary pallbearers include, Terry Western, Mark Western, Herbert Martin, Mark Howard and Kerry Clower.

Melvadean was born on September 28, 1933 to Albert and Lockie Earl (Henry) Western in Chico, Texas. She was united in marriage to Dale Morris on August 17, 1951 in Alvord, Texas. Melvadean and Dale were proud to also raise 2 grandchildren, Michael Don and Amber Dawn Morris. Melvadean was active in PTA, holding various offices including president. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Alvord and a 50 year member of the Chico Chapter #433 Order of the Eastern Star. She also enjoyed traveling, sports, baking special cakes and cookies.

She was preceded in death by her parents; 2 sons, Russell Don Morris and Darrell Ray Morris; 4 brothers, and 3 sisters.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her husband Dale Morris of Alvord; her son, Rickie Dale Morris of Alvord; 6 grandchildren, Michael Morris and wife Tia, Amber Morris, Robyn Taylor and husband Justin, Tanya Morris, Danielle Pierson and husband Maceo, and Jacob Morris; 13 great-grandchildren, Colby, James, Gavin, Michaela, Austin and wife MacKenzie, Chloe, Cadence, Jim Russell, Saige, Bailey, Christopher, Coy, and Thomas; 2 great-great-grandchildren, Aiden and Tovah; extended family and a host of friends.
