Decatur: Melvin Larry Conklin, 65, went to be with our Lord, Wednesday, June 13, 2012 in Decatur, Texas.
Private burial will be held at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas.
Melvin was born November 15, 1946 in El Paso, Texas to William L. and Verda Mae (Green) Conklin, Sr. He was united in marriage to Diane Greaton on October 18, 1986 in Lytle, Texas.
Melvin was inducted in the United States Air Force in 1965 and retired after 20 years of service. After retirement he worked for FEMA and retired in 2007.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife, Diane Conklin of Decatur; son, Robert Conklin and wife Alison of Thomasville, Georgia; two daughters, Kimberly Bursek and husband Gary of Washington and Stephanie Keel and husband Brian of Ohio; 8 grandchildren; brother, Bill Conklin and wife Linda of Orlando, Florida; aunt, Lena Faulkner of Tulsa; 1 niece, 1 nephew; and a host of friends.
