Azle ~ Michael Dwayne Oates, 65, an electrical engineer went to be with his Lord Sunday, July 5, 2015 in Azle, Texas.
Funeral service is 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 13, 2015 at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Oaklawn Cemetery. John Hooser will be officiating. Family will receive friends 6 - 8 p.m. Sunday at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home.
Pallbearers include Buddy Wheeler, Jerry Crawford, Gary Stepp, Sammy Morelock, Gerald Ray Oates, and Gary Elliot.
Michael was born November 23, 1949 to James Henry and Sylvia Louise (Findley) Oates in Bridgeport, Texas. He proudly served his country in the United States Coast Guard for 4 years.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his daughters, Tammy Oates of Azle, Kendra Dennis and husband Ron of Fort Worth, and Ashley Glick and husband Gary of Fort Worth; 2 brothers, Gaylen Oates and wife Debra of Paradise and Pat Oates and wife Cristi of Bridgeport; 5 grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Kim Starnes.
