Michael Richard Hickey, 68, of Marshal Arkansas currently residing in Alvord, Texas passed from this life on October 15, 2016 and joined his heavenly father.

Memorial service will be Friday October 21, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel Decatur.

Michael Wiley will officiate.

Michael was born on August 30, 1948 to Herbert and Louise (Kimry) Hickey in Carlisle, Arkansas. He was united in marriage to Rhonda Upton on January 25, 1997 in Fort Worth. Michael was a veteran and served in the Vietnam War in 1968 and 1970.

He surrendered to the ministry in 2002 and volunteering his time in several nursing homes while living in Weatherford, Texas. Michael became a member of Loafers Glory Community Church in Morning Star, Arkansas after pastoring three years at Evening Shade Baptist Church in Dennard, Arkansas.

He had an ornery sense of humor and you knew he liked you if he poked fun at you. Michael was opinionated and loved a good debate. He had a passion for the country especially the mountains. Michael enjoyed cutting and baling hay and deer hunting when he was able. He also loved his little weiner dog Ellie May.

Michael was preceded in death by his father, Herbert Hickey; his mother, Louise Hickey; his sister, Sharon Keaton, his infant son, Michael Richard Hickey; his infant grandson, Kyler Crable.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 19 years, Rhonda Hickey of Alvord; his sons, Richard Todd Anderson of Hurst, Daniel Hickey and wife Kristi of North Richland Hills; his daughters, Rachel Walker and husband Rhoni of Azle, Staci King and husband Kris of Alvord, Shandi Jaime and husband Jorge of Weatherford, Shian Thomas and husband Tim of Gainesville; Michael was blessed to be a Paw-Paw and Poppie to his 16 grandchildren ages ranging from 27 to almost here; his 2 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends. Such a blessing he was to all who knew him.
