Michael was born January 22, 1943 in Fort Worth, Texas to Bill and Edna Earl Thornton Williams. He served in the United States Navy.

Left behind to cherish his memory are daughters, Jennifer, Megan and Amy Williams; sons, Matthew and Adam Williams; and nieces, Heather Burdine and Cristen Pierce of Decatur; nephew, Scott Burdine of Decatur and brother-in-law of Decatur.

Michael is preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Jeanne Burdine.
