Mikel Lee Richardson, 67 of Boyd, a Commissioner of Wise County-Precinct 3 went to be with our Lord Monday, November 30, 2009.
Memorial Service: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 5 at the First Baptist Church of Boyd. Officiating is Reverend Mark Autry.
Honorary Pallbearers: Butch Clark, Sam Connally, Katherine Hudson, Charles Richardson, David Richardson, and Jimmy Wilson.
Mikel was born August 17, 1942 to Paul and Margy (Austin) Richardson in Boyd, Texas. He married Karen Anne Bruner February 27, 1971 in Lake Worth, Texas and was soon to celebrate their 39th wedding anniversary.
Mikel graduated from Lake Worth High School in 1960 and went on to graduate from the University of North Texas with a bachelors degree in accounting in 1966. His careers include the U.S. Army, Accountant for ACME Brick and Tandy Corporation, Auditor for Wise County and the County Commissioner for Wise County Precinct 3. He was past president of Boyd I.S.D. school board and a member of the First Baptist Church in Boyd.
His hobbies included home building which he built 3 family members thier homes, farming and his 5 grandchildren.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 38 years, Karen Richardson of Boyd, Sons; Mikel Shawn Richardson of Boyd, Branden Lee Richardson and wife Ryli Dawn Richardson of Boyd, Shannon Darrah Richardson of Oklahoma City, OK. 5 grandchildren; Blake, Savannah, Connor, Noah and Myles, 2 brothers; Charles Richardson and wife Jean of River Oaks, Tx., David Richardson and wife Barbara of Newark, Tx. and a host of many friends. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
