Funeral service is 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 15, 2008 at the Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel with Paul Pruitt officiating. Interment will follow the service in the Pruitt Family Cemetery in Alvord, Texas. Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Jimmy Pruitt, Danny Pruitt, Jeff Bryan, Tyler Pollock, David G. Hamilton and Roger Hawkins.
Bob was born April 21, 1924 in Alvarado, Texas to M.E. Pruitt and Lillie Mae Pillow. He joined the United States Navy in 1940 and retired after 20 years of service as Gunner's Mate Chief. After his time in the Navy, Bob retired as superintendent for 18 years with Bell Helicopter. Bob was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Moslah Temple Shriners and a member of the Eastern Star.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his sons, Greg Pruitt of Fort Worth, Paul Pruitt of Arlington; daughters, Betty Jackson of Double Oak, Texas, Janis Pollock of Fort Worth, Bonnie Hamilton of Alvord; 13 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Bob is preceded in death by his loving wife of 43 years, Bernice Pruitt and his son, Robert Arthur Pruitt.
