Bridgeport ~ Mildred Geneva Matzinger, 93, a homemaker, went to be with our Lord Tuesday, November 1, 2016 in Decatur.
Funeral is 1:00 p.m. Friday, November 4, 2016 at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Bridgeport with burial in Paradise Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Rev. Gerre Joiner will officiate. Pallbearers include Jerry Stanfield, Robert Stanfield, Aaron Stanfield, Bryan Keener, Lee Worley, and Jimmy Meyers.
Mildred was born on April 4, 1923 to Robert and Katie (Ramsey) Stanfield in Sobel, Oklahoma. She was united in marriage to Irv Matzinger on February 8, 1942 in Bridgeport.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Irv Matzinger; her son, Alan Matzinger; 2 brothers, and 2 sisters.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her son, Dan Matzinger and wife Leah of Lake Bridgeport; her granddaughters, Melissa Santa Cruz and husband Gabe of Duluth, Minnesota, Savannah Leigh Matzinger of Burleson, Joni Mae Matzinger of Carrollton; her great-grandchildren, Jude Barnett, and Ellie Santa Cruz; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
