NEWARK -- Mildred Marie "McGlumphy" Metzner, 93, the retired owner and operator of Mildred's Beauty Shop, passed away Saturday, May 9, 2009 in Decatur.
Memorial Service: 5 p.m. Thursday at Sage Meadow Church in Justin. Rev. Bryan Hendricks officiating. Visitation: 4-5 PM at the Church.
Mildred was born on August 12, 1915, the daughter of Leo and Alta Pearl (Sprowls) McGlumphy, in Claysville, Pennsylvania. She graduated from Claysville High School in 1933. She was a member of the Canyon Lake United Methodist Church, the Ladies Auxillary, and the Eastern Star.
Mildred was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William Charles Metzner; her granddaughter, Hannah Nicole Woods; sisters, Delores Sanes, and Virginia Rettinger.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are: daughter, Tracie Windsor of Newark; Grandsons, Rick Woods, Jr. and wife Sarah, and Chad Woods; granddaughter, Shena Gerreck and husband of Newark, Rick; great grandsons, Kaleb Belcher, Rickey Woods, III, Bailey Belcher, Justin Woods, and Cole Gerrek; great granddaughters, Tabitha Woods, Kayla Woods, Macey Gerrek, and Kaylie Gerrek.
