Boyd ~ Mitchell Woods, 85, a retired owner of an appliance maintenance company went to be with our Lord Friday, April 6, 2012 in Boyd.
Graveside service is 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 10th at Boyd Cemetery.
Rev. Gary Sessions will officiate. Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Monday at Christian-Hawkins Funeral Home.
Mitchell was born on May 3, 1926 to William Hardie and Iona May (McVoid) Woods in Fort Worth, Texas. He was united in marriage to Bunita Stevens on December 26, 1942 in Decatur. Mitchell served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was a member of the Keeter Baptist Church. Mitchell was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Jerald Mitchell Woods; 2 brothers; and 2 sisters.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 69 years, Bunita Woods of Boyd; his son, Ricky Fritz Woods and wife Cindy of Boyd; his granddaughters, Heather Woods, Courtney Etter, and Danielle Foster; his great granddaughter, Austin Etter; numerous nieces and nephews; other relatives and a host of friends.
