Springtown ~ Murtie Pearl Bounds, 73, a retired secretary and best Nana in the world, went to be with our Lord Thursday, May 11, 2017 in Springtown.
Memorial is 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 20, 2017 at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Boyd. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Pastor Bobby Bowden will officiate. Honorary pallbearers are the Tarrant County Sherriff's Posse.
Murtie was born on July 6, 1943 to Thomas and Ruby (Corbin) Patterson in California. She was a member of the Tarrant County Sheriff's Posse and the Wolf Pack. Murtie was the best Nana in the world. She was a member of the Western Star Cowboy Church in Springtown. Murtie retired from Hawkins Funeral Home in Boyd in 2015 and spent the rest of her time here on earth doing what she loved, taking care of her horses and other animals. Anyone who knew Murtie knew how much she adored her horses and could always tell a good story about them. She was a woman of strength, honesty and integrity.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Damon Bounds; her grandson, Jordan Adams; her brothers, Earl D. Thomas, Lloyd Thomas, and Tommy Patterson.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her sons, Kenneth Grant of Fort Worth and Joe Wilmoth of Irvine,California; her sisters, Earlene Mize of Memphis, Texas and Jimmie Boss of Amarillo, Texas; her daughters, Christi Wilson of Houston, Jenny Calles and husband Johnny of Pearland, Penny York and husband Chuck of Pearland, Shami Long of Justin, Karen Taber of Weatherford, and Michelle Van Winkle and husband Paul of Fort Worth; very good friend, R.D. Morgan of Springtown; numerous nieces, nephews, great grand nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.
