Alvord: Myrl Lorene Smith, 93, a homemaker, went to be with our Lord, Saturday, July 28, 2012 in Decatur.
Funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, August 1st at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home with Reverend Gary Demmitt officiating. Interment: Sycamore Cemetery.
Pallbearers included Chris Warr, Matthew E. Dunn, Matthew L. Dunn and Kyle Dunn.
Myrl was born October 23, 1918 in Pilot Point to Clarence and Lillie Mae (Moore) Thomas. She was united in marriage to Loyd Archie Smith. Myrl was a member of the Hopewell Baptist Church.
Left behind to cherish her memory are grandson, Britain Loyd Smith and wife, Sherry of Alvord; great granddaughters Brandi Lockwood and husband, Barrett of Weatherford, Michaela Cross of Alvord; great grandson, Christian Cross of Alvord; great great-granddaughter, Kinley Lockwood of Weatherford, Texas.
Myrl was preceded in death by her husband, son, Bill Smith; great grandsons, Cody and Tristan Smith; brother, Clarence Thomas, Jr. and William Thomas ; sister, Pearl Thomas.
