Bridgeport: Myrtle Ray Hamilton, 90, a homemaker, rancher and businesswoman, went to be with our Lord April 4, 2010 in North Richland Hills.

Funeral: 10 a.m. Thursday at Pleasant View Baptist Church in Bridgeport. Burial: East Bridgeport Cemetery. Visitation: 6-8 Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, friends may donate to a charity or church of their choice.

Reverend Gary Dimmitt to officiate. Pallbearers: John Cody McKelvain, J.H. Brazier, Bill Cline, Gary Everett, Jim Hamilton and Sam Hamilton. Honorary pallbearers: J.T. Morgan, Bobby Brazier and Noble, Harvey and Gene Phillips.

Myrtle was born February 9, 1920 to Floyd and Molly Maroney Phillips in Paris, Texas. She married Loyd Hamilton November 7, 1938 in Frederick, Oklahoma. Mrs. Hamilton was a resident of Bridgeport since 1957, a devout Christian and lived her life as such. She was active in the Baptist Church, The Eastern Star, Women's Missionary Union, Camp Copass and other Christian organizations. Her hobbies included gardening, painting, caring for animals and enjoying nature. She was known for her positive attitude and wonderful sense of humor.

Myrtle was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Loyd Hamilton; twin brothers, Henry Lloyd (Bud) Phillips and John Floyd (Son) Phillips; and sister, Bonnie Mae Goforth.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her son, Jim Hamilton and wife Debbie of San Antonio; 3 grandchildren, Molly Willcox and husband Scott of North Richland Hills, Jim Hamilton and wife Stephanie of Centennial, Colorado and Sam Hamilton of San Antonio; 4 great grandchildren, Robyn, Gwendolyn, Luke and Charlotte; brother, Noble Harvey (Gene) Phillips of Wichita Falls; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
