BOYD -- Myrtle Viola "Dot" McEntire 79, a homemaker passed away Monday, Aug. 16, 2010, at her home in Boyd.
Funeral Service: 10:30 am Friday at Christian-Hawkins Funeral Chapel. Burial: Boyd Cemetery. Family to receive friends 6-8 pm Thursday at the funeral home.
The Reverend Darryl Hatley to officiate. Pallbearers: Jason Edwards, Jonas McEntire, Dusty Mayhue, Jeremmy McEntire, Derek Mayhue and Kent Spencer. Honorary pallbearers: Jerred McEntire, Bryce Rodgers, Blake Rodgers, Kaidyn Mayhue and Kade Spencer.
Dot was born February 21, 1931, to Lawton and Goldie (Seely) McEntire in Briar, Texas. She married James "Mack" McEntire on February 18, 1950. He preceded her in death along with 3 brothers, Fritz, Howard, and Flynn McKinney, and 4 sisters, Leola Jefferson, Arveta Carter, Florene Hall, and Rowena McKinney.
Those left to cherish her memory: son: Jerry McEntire and wife Carolyn of Boyd; daughters, Diane Edwards, Sheila Mayhue and husband Jeff, and Shelly Rodgers, all of Boyd; 8 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; brothers, Jerry McKinney of Yuma, Arizona, and Obie McKinney of Weatherford; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
