Alvord: Nelda Jane Johnson, 81, died Friday, April 18, 2008, in her home after a brief illness with cancer.
Funeral services are 2 p.m. Monday at the Coker-Hawkins Chapel with burial in Justin Cemetery. Carl Livingston will officiate. Family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home.
Nelda was born December 12, 1926 to Thomas Bryan and Connie Jordan Lester in Forney, Texas. She married Thomas Chester Johnson on May 11, 1947 in Tarrant County.
Survived by her sons, Allen Johnson and wife, Pat of Benbrook, Paul Johnson and wife, Claudia of Ft. Worth, Phillip Johnson of Fort Worth, Bobby Johnson and wife, Angela of Arlington, Donald Johnson and wife, Karen of Joshua, Thomas Chester Johnson, Jr. of Ft. Worth, David Johnson and wife, Cate of Trophy Club; daughters, Terry Hill and husband, Don of Alvord, Gwendolyn Hignight of Arlington, Pamela Johnson Riley of Fort Worth; brother, Gary Lester and wife, Pauline of Weatherford; sister, Edna Frances Attaway of Fort Worth; 16 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren and 1 great, great grandchild.
Nelda was preceded in death by her husband, sisters, Barbara Burkett, Berdyne Black and Iris Edmonson; brothers, Tom Lester, Jr. and Connie Mac Lester.
