Nelda (Morgan) Vincent

Chico ~ Nelda Morgan Vincent, 83, a retired school secretary, went to be with our Lord Thursday, December 17, 2015 in Decatur.

Funeral is 10:30 a.m. Monday, December 21, 2015 at the First Baptist Church in Chico with burial in Chico Cemetery. Family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Sunday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Bridgeport.

Rev. Steven Azzara and Rev. Andy L. Gentry will officiate. Pallbearers include John Maddux, Colby Byers, Tommy Maddux, Nathan Byers, Dylan Vincent, Randy Vincent, Rusty Vincent, Nathan Evans, and Scott Evans. Honorary pallbearers include Tyler Hall, Jadon Maddux, and O'Neal Gardner.

Nelda was born on November 27, 1932 to Ira Daniel and Guy Eula (Ward) Morgan in Chico, Texas. She was united in marriage to William Dowell Vincent in 1971 in Chico. Nelda was the secretary for Chico ISD until her retirement. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and was pianist and organist there for most of her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William Vincent; her son, Kevin Vincent; her granddaughter, Natalie Byers; and her sister, Opal Siegler.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her daughter, Debbie Byers and husband Larry of Chico; her sons, Willy Jack Vincent and wife Robin of Chico, Ralph Evans and wife Lanora of Chico, David Evans and wife Tina of Jacksboro; 19 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren; her sister, Glenda VanHoose; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
