Bridgeport--Nellie Furrh Gaskie, 91, a homemaker, went to be with our Lord Monday, February 14, 2011 in Bridgeport.
Funeral is 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Hawkins Funeral Chapel. Interment is 1:00 p.m. Friday in Holy Cross Cemetery in Houston. Visitation is 6-7:30 p.m. Thursday before the service. Speaker will be Keith Gaskie.
Nellie was born on April 18, 1919 to George and Flora (Baker) Furrh in Wood County, Texas. She was a member of The Spring Garden Club in Houston.
Nellie was married to A.J. Gaskie until his death in 1976. She was also preceded by her parents; and 8 brothers and sisters: Roy Furrh, Myrtle Skinner, Valta Frachetto, Leora Dobbs, James B. Furrh, Georgia Gaskie, Woodrow Furrh, and Andrew Furrh.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her sons, Greg Weldon Gaskie and wife Sheryl of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Bart Gaskie of Ft. Worth; her daughter, Valita Gaskie of Houston; 9 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; other relatives and a host of friends.
