Funeral service is 2 p.m. Monday, October 18th at the First Baptist Church with Brother Bill Cleveland and Dan Petit officiating. Interment: Alvord Cemetery. Family will receive friends 5-6 Sunday at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home.
Nellie was born August 12, 1913 to William Jefferson and Nannie Ellen Bates Greenwood in Sunset, Texas. She married Glen "Tead" Goodwin on December 19, 1932 in Waurika, Oklahoma and was married 30 years at his death in September, 1980. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Beth Simms and grandson, Mark Goodwin.
Nellie was loved dearly by her family and friends and she loved each of them. She served as secretary/treasurer Union Hill Baptist Church for many years, was a member of the First Baptist Church of Alvord, and a member of the Eastern Star.
Left behind to cherish her memory are daughter, Betty Bollinger of Midland; two sons, David Goodwin and wife Linda, Eddie Goodwin and wife, Glenda both of Alvord; six grandchildren, Cathy Carruth and husband, Don of Midland, Ronnie Bollinger and wife, Teri, Donnie Bollinger and wife, Julie all of Midland, Sheila Goodwin of Corinth, Melanie Parr and husband, Scotty of Alvord, and Shelly Tefertiller and husband, Aaron of Bellevue; three sisters, Mildred Hancy and husband, Chet of Alvord, Dora Sutton of Odessa, Wilma Hudspeth and husband, David of Keene, Texas; 18 great grandchildren and 18 great great grandchildren.
