BOYD -- Nila M. Edwards, 79, died Saturday, Oct. 25, 2008, in Dallas.
Funeral: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Christian-Hawkins Funeral Chapel. Burial: Boyd Cemetery. Family will receive friends: 9 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Rev. David Bronleewe will officiate. Pallbearers: Welcome L. Edwards, Luke Edwards, Micah Edwards, Denton Edwards, Jacob Edwards, and Curtis Van Liew.
Nila was born on March 6, 1929, the daughter of Burnley and Estalene (Ashley) Hobson in Denton, Texas. She married Welcome Edwards on October 31, 1947 in Fort Worth. Nila was a retired secretary for Raytheon, a defense contractor. She was a member of the S.E. Dallas Emergency Food Center organization and a member of the Metropolitan Bible Church.
Nila was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Welcome on September 5, 1994; and her sister, Wanda Van Liew.
Left behind to cherish her memory is: Sons: Welcome Edwards and wife Debbie of Sachse, Scott Edwards of Bedford, Stuart Edwards and wife Paula of Garland, Joel Edwards and Rhonda of Coppell, Matthew Edwards and Rachael of Hillsboro; 14 grandchildren; and 1 great grandchild.
