BOYD -- Noma F. Edgin, 86, retired Dean of Women at Decatur Baptist College, passed away on Saturday, December 6, 2008 in Fort Worth.
Memorial service: 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 13, 2008 at Southcliff Baptist Church, 4100 S.W. Loop 820 in Fort Worth.
Noma was born on Oct. 16, 1922 in Wingate, Texas, the daughter of John and Ruby Phillips. She was preceded in death by her husband, Olin Edgin on May 1, 2004 and a son, John Rudell Fleming, Sr.
Left behind to cherish her memory are her grandchildren: Rhonda Jones and husband Mark of Alvarado, John Fleming Jr. of Fort Worth, Eric Fleming and wife Angela of Fort Worth, Shannon McWhorter and husband Robert of Fort Worth, Tommy Fleming of Lake Whitney; Great Grandchildren: Cheyenne and Marcus Jones, Ashley Fleming, Erica and Garrison Fleming, Stephanie and Sean Partridge, Jesse and Lane McWhorter; brothers, twin brother, John Norman Phillips of Bells, Barron Phillips and wife Maxine of Willmington, North Carolina, L.C. Phillips and wife Pat of Fort Worth. Weldon Phillips and partner Jim Hainline of Fort Worth; sisters, Ruth Norine Gandy of Greenriver, Wyoming, Ramona Peck and husband Kenny of Azle; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; and a host of friends.
