Norman Roy Johnson

Slidell ~ Norman Roy Johnson, 70, went to be with our Lord Monday, October 24, 2022.

Funeral is 10:00 a.m. Thursday, October 27, 2022 at First Baptist Church of Slidell with burial at Slidell Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur.

Todd Stevens will officiate. Pallbearers include Dusty Taylor, Caleb Morris, Scotty Taylor, Logan Pursur, Richard Newton, and Michael Newton.

Norman was born May 20, 1952 to Norman Glen and Nelda Ruth (Martin) Johnson in Decatur, Texas. He was united in marriage December 20, 1989 to Teresa Claytor in Greenwood, Texas. Norman was a retired supervisor, after many years with Reddy Ice. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend to many who will dearly miss him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Norman and Nelda Johnson; and a brother, Randy Johnson.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of over 32 years, Teresa Johnson of Slidell; 2 daughters, Jana Cox of Gainesville, and April Malone and husband Logan Pursur of Sanger; his son, Jason Johnson and wife Amanda of Minnesota; 7 grandchildren, Dusty Taylor, Caleb Morris, Chasey and Chloe Malone, Kristal and Kaylee Johnson, and Caitlin Harwell; 2 great-grandchildren; numerous extended family members and a host of friends.
