Otella Ruth Chappell

Graveside service: 10:30 a.m. Friday in Boyd Cemetery in Boyd, Texas. The Reverend Mark McBride to officiate. Pallbearers: Alex Hasting, Chris Etter, Paul Foster, Michael Petty, Gary Don Swindell and Jerry Swindell. Honorary Pallbearers: Phillip Freeman and Eddie Jackson.

Otella was born November 23, 1928 to Rufus and Dovie (Erwin) Petty in Paradise, Texas. She married Jimmie Chappell October 31, 1948 in Weatherford. He preceded her in death along with her brother, T.J. Petty. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Azle.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her daughters, Donna Chappell of Azle, Cheri Burks and her husband, Shawn of White Settlement; her son, Robert Chappell and wife Peggy, of Azle; 10 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; her brother, Jim Petty of Poolville; her sister, Beverly Ann Jones of Franklin, Louisiana; several nieces and nephew; other relatives and a host of friends.
