Pamela Denise Hollaway, 67, of Boyd, passed away Friday February 28, 2025 in Bridgeport, Texas.
Memorial Service will be 6 PM Friday, March 14th at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Boyd. Family will receive friends 5:30 pm – 6 pm at the funeral home.
Pamela was born on November 13, 1957, in Dallas, Texas, to Robert and Wanda Jean (Brackenbush) England. She married the love of her life, Rickey Hollaway, on May 23, 1975, in Irving, Texas. Their 50th wedding anniversary would have been in May 2025. Pamela graduated from Irving High School and later retired from Harcourt, where she worked as a manager in the sales department. She was a devoted Dallas Cowboys fan, which explains her love for the color blue. She loved reading Stephen King books and had a great affection for animals, especially dogs and horses. Her family meant everything to her; she always had a smile on her face and loved deeply. Her grandchildren—Cortney, Kaylee, and Jr.—were her world. She took immense joy in watching her grandson, David Jr., play football, and it filled her with pride, especially since David Jr. is currently serving in the U.S. Navy. Pamela had a remarkable ability to bring out the best in Rickey, turning him into the sweet and gentle caregiver he became. When she began to experience health issues a few years ago, Rickey was right by her side until her last day. Pamela had a big heart as a loving daughter, mother, and grandmother.
Pamela is survived by her husband of 49 years, Rickey Hollaway of Boyd; her daughter, Donna Ramsey and husband David of Rhome; her grandchildren, Kaylee Hollaway, Cortney Ramsey and David Ramsey, Jr. and a host of extended family and friends who will miss her dearly.
At the family request for everyone to wear blue or Dallas Cowboy attire in her honor.
In lieu of flowers they ask that a donation be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in her memory at www.act.alz.org
