Patricia Taylor September 30, 1945 – December 21, 2024 Patricia Taylor, 79, went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, December 21, 2024, in Decatur, Texas. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at First Baptist Church in Boyd, Texas. Born on September 30, 1945, to Willie and Blanche Horn, Patricia grew up in Boyd, Texas, where she graduated from Boyd High School. She married the love of her life, Don Taylor, on December 23, 1966, in Boyd. Patricia was the youngest of her siblings, all of whom preceded her in death. She loved cooking, especially baking sweet treats for friends and family.
Patricia never showed up empty-handed, always bringing food to share as a way of showing her love and care. She was an animal lover and had a special place in her heart for helping people in need, always extending a hand to those who required support and kindness. She was a devoted member of the Eastern Star and a supporter of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Known for her kind heart, unwavering faith, and deep love for her family, Patricia was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend whose presence brought warmth and joy to everyone who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Blanche Horn; her brothers, Roland, Olan, Burl and Earl Horn; and her sisters, Sue Farmer, Billie Logan, and Peggy Thom;
Patricia’s memory will live on through those who loved her deeply: her husband of 58 years, Don Taylor of Boyd; her sons, Jack Taylor and wife Deborah of Richardson, and Chad Taylor and wife Kristy of Hickory Creek; her three granddaughters, Aeden Taylor of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Samantha and Maddison Taylor of Hickory Creek. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of dear friends who will miss her greatly. We take comfort in knowing Patricia is now in heaven with her family, laughing, telling stories, and spreading the same joy and love she shared during her time here on earth.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations in Patricia’s honor to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, reflecting her lifelong commitment to helping others. StJude.org/donate Patricia’s life was a testament to love, faith, and generosity. Her legacy will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
