Patsy Irene Todd, 81 years, went to be with our Lord Friday, June 2, 2023 in Decatur, Texas.

Funeral Service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at First Baptist Church in Decatur with a private burial following. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Monday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur.

Reverend Phillip Hilton will officiate the service. Pallbearers will include Taylor Monroe, Dale White, Justin White, Todd Wilt, and Alan Avery. Honorary pallbearers include Gene White, John Wooten, and Lance Norris.

Patsy was born April 9, 1942 to Dale Thomas and Verna Lee (Meek) White in Dumas, Texas. She was united in marriage September 7, 1962 to Frank Richard Todd in Dumas. Patsy earned her Bachelor’s from Oklahoma Panhandle State University and went on to teach in Sunray I.S.D. She was also a member of First Baptist Church of Decatur. Patsy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to many who will dearly miss her.

"Patsy was a homemaker for over 25 years, staying home to raise her daughters and take care of the bookkeeping for their family business, Todd’s Auto Parts in Sunray. She served on various committees and was an ESL teacher at Sunray Baptist Church but mostly enjoyed teaching the 5-year old Sunday School Class for over 30 years. She worked for Sunray ISD as the elementary school secretary for 4 years and went back to college at the age of 50 to complete her teaching degree. She spent 15 years teaching and loving on 2nd graders and loved getting daily hugs from her kiddos until she retired from teaching in 2008. She and Frank moved to Decatur in 2009 to be close to their two grandchildren. It gave them great joy to be able to watch Taylor and Lauren grow up and attend their many school and sporting events.

Patsy enjoyed reading in spare time and going on their annual trip to Red River, NM. She loved her family fiercely and touched so many lives in her 81 years.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Decatur Medical Lodge for caring for Patsy as she fought her battle with ALS. "

She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister-in-law, Bert White.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her husband of 60 years, Frank Richard Todd of Decatur; her daughters, Terri Evenson of Nashville and Misty Monroe of North Richland Hills; 2 grandchildren, Taylor Todd Monroe of Austin and Lauren Emily Monroe of Fort Worth; her sister, Anna Wooten and husband John of Cleburne; her brother, Gene White of Wichita, Kansas; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
