Patti June Williams-Basting

Patti June (Williams) Basting, age 57, of Boyd, passed away peacefully on April 14, 2024 in Boyd, TX.

Patti was born on June 19, 1966, to Robert Junior Williams and Patsy Ewing Chance. She attended Boyd High School and graduated in 1984. She loved to play sports, laugh with friends, get into trouble, and was a proud cheerleader for the Boyd Yellowjackets. After high school, she obtained her cosmetology license and worked as a hairdresser. Since that time, she had taken numerous working roles.

No matter the task, she never lacked the ability to apply herself when needed.

Patti was a born artist. There were no limits to what she could create. From drawings and knitting patterns, to custom clothing, to designing or renovating a living room, or assembling a Christmas tree, her vision was unique and her enthusiasm in duty was rarely absent. She always took pride in what she did and accomplished.

Patti’s love for family never faltered. She was never too far away to help a family member in need. She never knew a stranger, and loved to help people. She could make friends with anyone, anytime, at any place, and there were no limits as to what could be talked and joked about. She could find humor in any situation, including in grief.

Patti is survived by her children, Emily Basting and Jackson Basting; brother, Greg Williams and sister, Ronna Wilson; niece Kelsey Griffin and husband William; nephew Derek Williams; great-niece and great-nephew, Collins and Duke Griffin, along with numerous cousins and extended family, and a host of friends and acquaintances.

She was preceded in death by her brother Ron Williams; parents Robert Junior Williams, Patsy Ewing Chance, stepfather William Earl “Bill” Chance; grandparents Joseph & Edith Hern, James & Estel Williams; uncle and aunt, Harold and Peggy Harvey.

Memorial service will be 11:00 AM, Saturday April 27th at Hawkins Funeral Home in Boyd. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
