CHICO -- Paul R. Grimes, 82, a truck driver for Permit Haulers went to be with our Lord on Sunday, Jan. 17, 2010 in Decatur.
Funeral: 2 p.m. Thursday at Crafton Baptist Church. Interment: Chico Cemetery. Family will receive friends: 6-8 Wednesday.
Rev. Tom Merritt will officiate. Pallbearers: Greg Grimes, Kyle R. Grimes, Lyle Grimes, Kyle E. Grimes, and Colt Lemond. Honorary Pallbearers: Jessica Grimes and Kayden Grimes.
Paul was born on September 22, 1927, the son of Edward and Goldie (Singhaus) Grimes in Harrison County, Ohio. He married Veda Johnson on June 28, 1953 in Harrison County. Paul was a past member of the Chico Chamber of Commerce. He was a current member of the Chico Parks and Recreation, the Chico Cemetery Board from 1996, the Chico Masonic Lodge 508, the Alvord Masonic Lodge 512, the Alvord Chapter and Council 131-193, the Godfrey Commandry #37, and the Crafton Baptist Church.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Dale Grimes; his grandson, Brent Lamond; his sister, Rena Domer; and his brother, Fred Grimes.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are: wife Veda Grimes of Chico; daughter, Sheila Lemond and husband Kevin of Alvord; sons, Ronald Grimes and wife Cathy of Alvord, Gary Grimes of Chico; grandchildren: Greg, Kyle R., Lyle, Kyle E., Colt, and Jessica; great grandchild, Kayden; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.

Was sorry to hear that Uncle Paul had passed away Sunday. My mother Anna (Sally) had called to let me know. Uncle Paul will be missed by all of us both close and far. Will not be able to make it to the funeral because of work.
