Paula Ann Tolle

Bridgeport ~ Paula Ann Tolle, 75, went to be with our Lord Thursday, November 28, 2024 in Bridgeport.

Funeral Service is 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 3rd, at First United Methodist Church in Bridgeport with burial at East Bridgeport Cemetery. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

Paula was born on July 8, 1949, to Bill and Wilda (Dunn) Thompson in Athens. She was united in marriage to Bennie Eugene Tolle on July 26, 1974, in Bridgeport. Paula is a graduate of Bridgeport High School, Henderson County Junior College and North Texas State University with a degree in education. She taught school in Bridgeport, Paradise and Boyd. She was the owner of Tolle’s Shoe Shack in Bridgeport. She was a former Bridgeport City Councilman and Bridgeport School Board member. She represented Wise County as the TSTA president and county NEA delegate. She ran twice for Wise County Judge. She is a longtime member of the Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Wilda (Dunn) Thompson; her husband, Ben Tolle; and her brother, Jim Thompson.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her nieces, Katie Smith and husband Josh of Decatur and Stacie Anderson of Graham; her step-daughters, Lynn McLauchlin and husband Steve of Decatur and Ginger Stone and husband Bob of Dallas; her step-sons, David Tolle and wife Connie of Durango, Colorado and Bill Tolle of Fort Worth; her grandchildren, Emily Staley and Stephen McLauchlin; her special friend, Maria Keoun and husband Donald of Decatur; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

In Lieu of Flowers the family request donations be made to Boyd Education Foundation in Paula’s name.
