Hurst-Bridgeport ~ Pauline L. Mitchell, 94, a retired secretary and homemaker, entered eternal life Friday, January 3, 2014 in Bridgeport.
Funeral is 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 11, 2014 at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Bridgeport with burial in Moore Memorial Gardens, 1219 North Davis, Arlington, Texas 76012. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Jerry Hines and John Hogan will officiate.
Pauline was born on December 18, 1919 to Ira and Bertha (Kilgore) Lane in Yalobusha County, Mississippi. She was united in marriage to Arnold Mitchell on June 11, 1943 in Tallahatchie, Mississippi. Pauline moved from Hurst in 2000 to be with her family. Pauline was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bridgeport.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 44 years, Arnold Mitchell; her son, Arnold Wayne Mitchell; her brother, George William Lane; and her sister, Claudine Mitchell.
Her spirit is carried on by the family she adored; her son, Gary Mitchell and wife Deitra of Bridgeport; her 3 grandchildren and their spouses; Her 7 great-grandchildren; her brothers, Ira Lane Jr. and wife Janice of Nashville, Tennessee, James Deon Lane and wife Joyce of Clinton, Mississippi, John Kenneth Lane and wife Rachel of Scobey, Mississippi; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
We are forever blessed having her in our lives and will miss her joy, strength, spirit and love.
