NEWARK -- Pearl Edwards Sims, 79, a retired licensed vocational nurse, died Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2005, at her home in Newark. Funeral: 11 a.m. Friday at First Baptist Church in Newark. Burial: Dido Cemetery. Memorials: First Baptist Church of Newark Building Fund. She was preceded by her parents, Brad and Cynthia Overstreet Edwards; a son, Roy Williams; a daughter, Charlotte Sims; three brothers, Leo, Elvin and Earl Edwards; and a sister, Ruby Herring. Survivors: Husband of 39 years, Roland Sims of Newark; daughters, Elaine Cohen and husband, Jerry of Springtown, Sherry Hamilton and husband, Robert of Haltom City, and Rita Gailbreath and husband, Gary of Newark; sons, Larry Williams of Newark and Tim Williams of Springtown; sister, Ethel Austin of Chandler, Texas; brother, Hubert Edwards of Chandler, Texas; nine grandchildren; two great-granddaughters; and numerous relatives and friends. Pallbearers will be Rpbert Davis, Jerry Norris, Jim Lightsey, James Edgemon, Cokey Kelly, and Larry Williams.
