Peggy Joyce Livengood Baker

Funeral: 11 a.m. Monday at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Chapel. Burial: Fairview Cemetery. Family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Roy Deaver will officiate. Pallbearers: Blake McCurdy, Joe Walter Baker, Biff Joslin, James Baker, Richard White, and Vearl Wolverton.

Peggy was born on November 15, 1924, to John and Liola (Coffman) Livengood in Cottondale. She married Joe Baker, Jr. on June 19, 1970 in Granbury. Peggy was a longtime nutritionist and activity director at Golden Years Haven. She was a member of the Rhome City Council and the Rhome Church of Christ.

Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Baker, Jr., her brother, Zollie Livengood, her sister, Thelma Young, and her son Stephen McCurdy.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her son, Blake McCurdy and wife Chris of San Diego, California, her daughter, Jackee DeLay and husband Charles of Shell Knob, Maryland, her brother, John Livengood and wife Joanne of Decatur, her 5 grandchildren, her 6 great grandchildren, other relatives and a host of friends.
