Peggy Joyce Calicott

Boyd ~ Peggy Joyce Calicott, 87, went to be with our Lord on Sunday, September 6, 2020 in Boyd, Texas.

Funeral: 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 11, at Trinity Baptist Church in Boyd with burial in Boyd Cemetery.  Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Boyd.

The Rev. Andrew Vandergriff to officiate.  Pallbearers: Will Pierce, Logan Ellis, Ben Whatley, Rustyn Ellis, Zack Selby, Stephen Ellis, and Bailey Vandenbrande.

Peggy was born March 21, 1933 to Thomas Russell and Flossie May (Byers) Whatley.  She married Chester Calicott, November 29, 1952 in Fort Worth. She retired from Lockheed as an assembler and was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Boyd.  Peggy was a mother, grandmother, sister and friend to many.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester; 4 brothers, Herschel, JB, Billy Jack and Carl Whatley and her sister, Bertha Bullock.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her son, Eddy Calicott and wife Brenda of Boyd; 2 daughters, Judy Pierce and husband Lee of Boyd, Mary Caison and husband Eric of Fort Worth; 4 grandchildren, Stacey Vandergriff, Erin Williams, Tommy Ellis and Will Pierce; 11 great-grandchildren; her brother Jerry Whatley and wife Deborah of Mineral Wells; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
