PARADISE -- Peggy Joan Evans, 74, a homemaker, died Friday, Aug. 18, 2006, at home in Paradise. Funeral: 11 a.m. Tuesday at Hawkins Chapel. Burial: Hope Cemetery in Henrietta. Mrs. Evans was born October 15, 1931 in Azle to the late Jesse L. and Hattie Blackwell Holems. She married Walter Loil Evans August 11, 1949 in Grapevine. They were united 54 years until his passing on Feb. 24, 2004. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Dorothy Bailey. Joan was a member of the First Baptist Church of Grapevine. Survivors: Son, Mike Evans and partner, Linda Powell of Paradise; daughters, Susan Messick and husband, Bruce of Paradise and Candy McKenzie and fiancee, James Williams of Paradise; grandchildren, Eric, Candi, Jason, Lee and Jake; great-grandchildren, Teresa, Erika and Seth; and sister, Rhea Brickell of Weatherford.
