Paradise: Pete J. Bridges, 70, an electrician, went to be with our Lord Thursday, December 2, 2010 in Decatur.
Funeral was 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 5, 2010 at Hawkins Funeral Chapel. Reverend Michael Wiltcher officiated.
Pete was born May 13, 1940 to Pete and Arvella (Chance) Bridges in Sulphur Springs. He married Dixie C. Webb on August 12, 1959 in Brownfield, Texas. He was an electrical lineman for the City of Bridgeport for 19 years. Pete was a veteran of the Army.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Joe Wayne Bridges and Chuck Bridges; his sisters, Irene Goodin, Janie Doty and Pauline Bridges.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 51 years, Dixie Bridges of Paradise; daughter, Kay Williams and husband Jerry of Paradise; sons, Cary Bridges and wife Rhonda Scheller of Decatur, Scotty Bridges of Cottondale, Pete Bridges II and wife Misty of Paradise, Chuck Bridges of Bridgeport; 22 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews; other relatives and a host of friends.
