Phyllis "Joan" Conley

Phyllis "Joan" Conley, dedicated and loving mother, grandmother and faithful servant went to be with her Lord & Savior Jesus Christ at the age of 80 on January 16th, 2023. Born July 25, 1942 in Dallas Texas to Johnny and Ferne Conley, she was the middle of three children.

Funeral is 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 20th, 2023 at Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur, Texas with burial at Oaklawn Cemetery. Family will receive friends at 12:30 a.m. before the service at the funeral home.

Joan was an incredible vocalist and spent many years serving in her church choir and as a soloist who very often traveled from church to church sharing her gift. In her retirement, she traveled the world as a missionary, most notably in the Holy Land and later worked for many local hospitals throughout Tarrant County as a Chaplain. In 2009 at the age of 67, she received her Master’s in Missiology from the Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Johnny and Ferne Conley, sister, Sue Conley and brother, Jerry Conley.

Survivors who will miss her dearly include her son, Tyler Franke, wife Jennifer & their daughters Jillian & Jacquelyn. Daughter Tonya Blakesley, husband Kirk & their children Kami, Aaron, Katelyn, Kenton and Kelsey; son Rodney Brown, wife Renee & daughter Ashton and several great-grandchildren.
