Phyllis Anne Young

Bridgeport~ Phyllis Anne Young, 82, went to be with our Lord on Monday, December 5th, 2022 in Bridgeport.
Funeral Service will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 12th, 2022 at Christ Fellowship Church in Chico. Graveside Service will be 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 13th, 2022 at Memorial Park Cemetery in Amarillo. Family will receive friends 4:00-6:00 p.m. on Sunday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Bridgeport.
Rev. Todd Blair will officiate. Pallbearers are to include Terrance Boden, Kyle Sisk, Johnathan Young, Anthony Young, Kirby Nunn, and Breck Melemdez. Honorary pallbearers are to be William Perry and Bailey Hair.
Phyllis was born on February 13, 1940 to Donald and Dorothy (Carpenter) Girard in Cadillac, Michigan. She was a longtime employee of Bridgeport I.S.D. as a school bus driver and also worked for Walmart for over 20 years. Phyllis was united in marriage to James Oliver Young on December 3, 1959 in Cadillac, Michigan and were together 45 years until his passing in 2004. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend who will be missed by all that knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Dorothy Girard; her husband, James Young; her son, Mark Young; her granddaughter, Chalisse; and her brothers, Richard and Donald Girard.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her daughters, Sally Owens and husband Ronnie of Amarillo and Terry Perry and husband Billy of Bridgeport; her grandchildren, Elisha, Keishia, Anthony, Johnathan, Cassie, Kristen, Kerrie, Tesia, Terrance, and Felisha; her 18 great-grandchildren, her brothers, Gary Girard, Greg Girard, Michael Girard, David and Jeff Girard; numerous extended family members and a host of friends.
