CHICO -- Pixie Mae Slayton, 82, a homemaker, went to be with our Lord on Tuesday, April 29, 2008 in Chico.
Funeral: 2 p.m. Monday at Hawkins Funeral Chapel. Burial: Bethel Cemetery. Visitation: 4-6 p.m. Sunday. Rev. Gary Sessions will officiate. Pall bearers will be Gary Myrick, Gary Myrick II, Jeremy Flowers, Steve Hammonds, Richard Slayton, and David Slayton
Pixie Mae Slayton was born on September 30, 1925 in Postell, North Carolina, the daughter of Jasper and Bonnie (Allen) Payne. She married Ted Slayton on October 27, 1941 in Dallas, Texas.
Pixie was preceded in death by her husband, Ted and her daughter, Veta Nebaker.
Left behind to cherish her memory are: daughters, Theda Dewitt of Yerington, Nevada, Mary Diane Myrick and husband Gary of Riverside, California, and Janice Frisby of Chico; sons, David Slayton and wife Rada of Shreveport, Louisiana and Richard Slayton of Riverside, California; numerous granchildren and great grandchildren; sisters, Joyce Smith and Mary Townsend; brother, Harold Payne; several nieces and nephews.
