Boyd ~ Ralph Edwin Hitchcock, 88, a retired aviation machinist for Bell Helicopter went to be with our Lord Friday, July 17, 2015 in Boyd.
Funeral is 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church #2 in Keeter with burial in Azleland Memorial Park in Azle. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Monday at Christian-Hawkins Funeral Home in Boyd.
Pastor Dale Noska will officiate. Pallbearers include Jimmy Denton, Jamie Denton, Mark York, Clint York, Charles Newberry and Keith Hulsey.
Ralph was born on May 31, 1927 to Isaac and Rosie (Yocham) Hitchcock in Eden, Texas. He was united in marriage to Vernell Willson on March 18, 1951 in Lancaster, Texas. Ralph was a member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church #2 and was a dedicated employee of Bell Helicopter for over 25 years and a proud veteran of the United States Navy.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Cynthia Denton; and his brother, Harrell Lee Hitchcock.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 64 years, Vernell Hitchcock of Boyd; his daughter, Cheryl York and husband Mark of Fort Worth; his son in law, Jimmy Denton of Azle; his grandchildren, Jamie Denton and wife Norma of Boyd, Shannon Coomer and husband Jason of Italy, Wendy York of Orange County, California, and Clint York of River Oaks; his sisters, Neta Self and Wanda Hammack and husband Steve, Pat Jones and husband Bobby, Pauline Yates and husband Larry; other family members and a host of friends.
