Randy Eugene Slimp

Decatur ~ Randy Eugene Slimp, 60, went to be with our Lord Tuesday, September 14, 2021.

Funeral is 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 18, 2021 at First Baptist Church in Decatur with burial at Cottonwood Cemetery. Family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the Service at the church.

Matt Gage, Robert Rodden and Jimmy Withers will officiate.

Pallbearers include Kurt Graves, Keith Graves, Kyle McCurdy, Dale Rogers, Brent Payton, and Brian Dooling.

Randy was born January 17, 1961 to Bobby Eugene and Verda June (Teske) Slimp in Ft. Worth, Texas. He was united in marriage May 28, 1988 to Georgetta Lynn Dooling in Aurora, Texas. Randy graduated Northwest High School and was a retired machinist after many years at Poco Graphite. Randy attended Bible College, going on to become an ordained minister. He served as Associate Pastor at Aurora Baptist Church for many years. Following his time doing the Lord's work at Aurora Baptist, Randy served as associate pastor and music minister of Faith Baptist Church in Decatur. Randy was a beloved husband, the best father, the sweetest grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend to many who will miss him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bobby and Verda Slimp.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 33 years, Georgetta Slimp of Decatur; his son, Timothy Slimp and Lacy Schrampfer of Richardson; his daughter, Amelia Slimp of Decatur; granddaughter, Emma Alexis of Decatur; his father-in-law, Louis Dooling of Decatur; his brother, Danny Slimp and wife Tina of Alvord; several aunts, uncles, nieces, extended family members and a host of friends.
