Raul Banuelos

Decatur ~ Raul Banuelos, 72, of Decatur went home to be with our Lord on Friday, July 1, 2022 in Decatur.

Funeral Mass is 9:30 a.m. Friday at Assumption Catholic Church in Decatur with burial following at Oaklawn Cemetery.  Family will receive friends 6-8 PM Thursday with Rosary at 7 PM at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Decatur.

Raul was born January 22, 1950 to Jose and Antonia (Barrientos) Banuelos in Los Lirios, Jerez, Zacatecas, Mexico.  Upon completing school he went to work in metal production, became a manager, and retired for Holga Inc.   Raul married the love of his life, Maria Refugio Perez, on November 8, 1992 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend to many who will miss him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Javier Banuelos, and his twin brother.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 29 years, Maria R. Banuelos of Decatur; his children, Araceli Beck and husband Chris of Stephenville, Raul Banuelos, Jr. and wife Jazmine of Decatur, Azucena Garcia and husband Edgar of California, Marisol Banuelos of Decatur, Blanca Luther and husband Denver of Carrollton, and Teresa Banuelos of Decatur; his grandchildren, Miguel Bravo, Karisma Banuelos, Raul Banuelos, III, Nathaniel Banuelos, Emma Garcia, and Maverick Garcia; his siblings,  Juanita Vargas, and Baldomero Banuelos; numerous extended family and a host of friends.
