Lake Bridgeport ~ Ray Cox, 91, went to be with our Lord on Monday, March 15, 2021 in Grapevine.
Graveside Memorial will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 10, 2021 at Pleasant Grove #3 Cemetery in Chico.
Rev. Craig Erb will officiate.
Ray was born on January 20, 1930 to Willie Smith and Levie (Denney) Cox in Chico, Texas. He was united in marriage to the love of his life, Nelda Prichard on June 24, 1950 in Love County, Oklahoma. They spent 70 wonderful years together until her passing June 28, 2020. Ray proudly served his country in the United States Marines, and was a veteran of the Korean War. Ray was a member of First Baptist Church of Bridgeport as well as affiliations with The Masons, Shriners, and as a past Master Mason several times. He was a retired aircraft mechanic.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Nelda Cox; his son, Gary Ray Cox; and his brother, Willie Harold “W.H.” Cox.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his daughter, Rhonda Jeanne Friend and husband Robert of Hurst; his grandchildren, Christopher Robert Stevens and wife Maricela of Fort Worth, Julie Raye Strinko and husband Steven of Fort Worth, and Jessica Rene Friend of Hurst; his great-grandchildren, Sydney, Zach, Daniel, and Katherine; his siblings, C.J. Cox of Bridgeport and Janet Canova and husband Eugene of Bridgeport; numerous extended family members a host of friends and neighbors.
