Ray Everett Garrett

June 17, 1951 — May 20, 2017

Boyd ~ Ray Everett Garrett, 65, a retired air conditioning and heating technician, went to be with our Lord Saturday, May 20, 2017 in Decatur.

Memorial will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, May 26, 2017 at the First United Methodist Church in Boyd with interment at the DFW National Cemetery Wall sometime in June.

Ray was born on June 17, 1951 to Bruce and Mattie Lou (Tillery) Garrett in Pittsburg, Texas. He was united in marriage to Marjorie Sue Winters on December 21, 1984 in Boyd. Ray proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Boyd.

Ray was preceded in death by his mother, Mattie Lou Garrett; his sister, Virginia Oswalt, and his brother, Randy Garrett.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 32 years, Sue Garrett of Boyd; his son, Mark Gonzalez of Boyd; his daughter, Kristina Hays and husband R.J. of Briar; his grandchildren, Krissy Hays, Corbin Hays, Damian Gonzalez, Gabe Gonzalez, and Kasen Gonzalez; his sister, Rosemary Larsen of Joplin, Missouri; numerous nieces and nephews, other family members and a host of friends.
