Runaway Bay ~ Ray Ross, 73, a retired business owner and grocery store manager, went to be with our Lord Sunday, September 4, 2016 at his home in Runaway Bay.

Funeral is 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Bridgeport with burial in Boonsville Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Rev. Glen Connell will officiate. Pallbearers include Hunter Ross, Dusty Admire, David Wallace, Brian Cox, Tim Halcomb, Nathan Tannery, and Zach Tannery.

Ray was born on June 17, 1943 to George and Bessie (Cannaday) Ross in Hopkins County. He was united in marriage to Edith Perkins on April 3, 2008 in Bridgeport. Ray owned and operated J & R Food Mart and later managed One Stop of Texas. He was a member of the Balsora Baptist Church. Ray gave his life to Christ at an early age. He was a loving husband and friend. Ray’s greatest love and accomplishments were his children and his grandchildren. His beautiful smile and spirit will live on in the hearts of many.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Delain Berry; and his brothers, Roy Halcomb and Otis Halcomb.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife, Edith Ross of Runaway Bay; his son, Terry Ross and wife Kelli of Bridgeport; his daughters, Kim Admire and husband Danny of Bridgeport, and Bonnie Sinclair of Mt. Vernon; his grandchildren, Kayleigh Admire, Dusty Admire, Amanda Cox, Maikan Sinclair, and Pake Sinclair; his great grandchildren, Kannyn, Liam, Dakota, Kiowa, Hunter, and J.T.; his stepbrothers, Doug Halcomb and wife Ann, and Robert Halcomb; his sister, Betty Lou Buland; other family members and a host of friends.
