Raymond J. Hays Sr.

Raymond J. Hays Sr., 61, a ranch hand, went to be with our Lord Saturday, March 5, 2016 at home in Boyd. Funeral is 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Keeter with burial in Anneville Cemetery in Boyd. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Monday at Christian-Hawkins Funeral Home.
The Rev. Dale Noska and Sam Keener will conduct services. Pallbearers include Josh Hays, RJ Hays, Ronnie Alcorn, Tano Lopez, John Hatley, and Robbie Harris. Honorary pallbeares are Samuel Hulsey, James Hines, and Corbin Hays.
Raymond was born on September 20, 1954 in Stockton, California to Lloyd J Paul and Peggy Ruth "Young" Hays. He was married to Mellisa Hatley on October 17, 1977 in Boyd.
Raymond was preceded by his parents; his brothers, Furman Hays, Bruce Hays, and David Hays; his sisters, Ruth Hays and Brenda Rhoudes; and his step-father, Ed Wilson Sr.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 38 years, Mellisa Hays; his son, RJ Hays and wife Kristina; his daughters, Wilma Hulsey and husband Keith and Maggie Olson Elliott and husband Ron; his grandchildren, Krissy Hays, Corbin Hays, Samuel Hulsey, Sequoyah Hulsey, Zac Olson, Brooklyn Olson, and Mikel Olson; his great grandchild, Clover Olson; his sister, Glenda Hays; and a host of extended family and friends.
